After a five-year hiatus, Eric Prydz puts his alias Pryda back on the release chart with a brand new EP.

World-renowned DJ and producer Eric Prydz has chosen this summer to resurrect his most well-known alias Pryda. The long-awaited return of this Prydz project comes in the form of an EP and materialises the first release from Pryda for half a decade. Released separately and as a single, the first extract ‘The Return‘ is already out on all major platforms via Pryda Recordings. ‘Of Me‘ will be released in a few days, on 28 July. Prydz releases are always met with great ecstasy, not only because they are superb tracks, but because of the amount of suspense that surrounds them. His performances are filled with unreleased Ids that you may, or may not, ever see released. It’s this doubt that gives them added value. ‘The Return’, released today, symbolises not only the first release under the Pryda alias in the last five years but also Prydz’s first release since his remix of Anyma and Chris Avantgarde’s ‘Consciousness‘.

This is undoubtedly a big summer for Eric Prydz. His HOLO concept is one of the most sought-after events for fans of his music, but also for those who can’t resist a multi-sensory experience. For the first time, this concept took place in its club version on the white island, at his residence in Hï Ibiza. It was precisely in Ibiza, at the opening party of Ushuaïa, that this track was heard for the first time. It was indeed Prydz’s return to the island and in a big way. The track is accompanied by a show of an astronaut trapped in a cage, another stunningly realistic image.

Part of the club version of HOLO, ‘The Return’ is truly a track made for a dark room. Extremely progressive, this tune is itself a driver of multiple dimensions. It’s enveloping and haunting, showcasing Prydz’s skills in the studio. It’s profound, sombre yet uplifting, and unleashes a whirlwind of emotion. Another heavyweight production, you can listen to it below:
