Jean-Michel Jarre announces historic Christmas event at Château de Versailles

Now the French artist will look to transcend time as he helps celebrate an iconic anniversary at the Château de Versailles.

He is known for his stunning compositions and a fearless desire to expand upon the way listeners experience his music, Jean-Michel Jarre will be ringing in the holiday season with a one-of-a-kind Christmas event. Taking place at the Château de Versailles, Jarre will perform at the iconic Hall of Mirrors within, helping the establishment celebrate its 400th anniversary. On Christmas day, Jarre will transcend both time and reality during the event, taking listeners on a musical journey through the building’s esteemed history while also wearing a LYNX mixed-reality headset to help interact with the virtual crowd, while also playing to a live audience.

“Versailles 400 is a hybrid concert and visual creation broadcast live from one of the world’s most beautiful locations, as well as in virtual reality in the metaverse,” Jarre said in a statement. “I hope the event will help promote our creative savoir-faire and bring the world of French immersive creation to the forefront of collective culture.”

Tickets for this iconic event are on sale now via the Château de Versailles official website, and those unable to attend will be able to watch via Jarre’s YouTube page, as well as on Eurovision Services and RTL radio.
