As the entertainment and music industry evolves faster thanks to new technologies and social platforms, one outlet is setting itself above the rest to bring content to audiences. With TikTok positioning itself as a music discovery and access leader, it is exploring new ways to reach fans with record-breaking results.

With the evolution of social media and live streaming expanding constantly, the team at TikTok is constantly exploring new ways to bring entertainment to its users. As streaming events at home have become more normalized in the post-COVID world, the social media platform is continuing to experiment with providing access to exciting live events. At the close of Ibiza’s 2022 season, David Guetta utilized the platform to deliver what was then one of the most viewed live-streamed events ever, and a truly record-breaking performance for electronic artists. Now organizers have stepped up their game, officially hosting the first ever TikTok In The Mix live event with performances from stars such as Cardi B, Offset, Charlie Puth, and Niall Horan.

The show itself took place in Mesa, Arizona at Sloan Park, where a sold-out crowd of 17,000 fans took in the event in person, but that number was nothing compared to the audience who watched it digitally. Attracting an audience of over 33.5 million fans worldwide, it was by far the largest viewed live-stream event the platform has ever offered. Paul Hourican, Global Head of Music Partnerships and Programming at TikTok discussed the excitement at the success of the event:

In The Mix was an awe inspiring event where fans and artists came together to celebrate what we love about TikTok, where the power of the platform’s music discovery played out on stage. An event of this magnitude truly takes a village, thank you to the amazing line up of incredible artists, our partners, the sold out crowd in Arizona, and the record breaking audience who watched around the world in their millions on TikTok.”

While this is just the beginning of the In The Mix series of events, it is a massive confirmation that the team at TikTok understands its audience and users. Anyone who feels they missed out on watching, or just wants to relive the highlights of this momentous occasion can turn to Disney+ or Hulu to watch a special one-hour recap of the concert.
