ANAHEIM, Calif. — Audio software developer Waves Audio took top honors for Signal Processing Software (Dynamics/EQ/Utilities) at last week’s Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards for their Clarity Vx DeReverb Pro VST plugin. Clarity Vx utilizes artificial intelligence for revolutionary voice processing capabilities in audio post-production.

Powered by Waves’ groundbreaking neural network technology, Clarity Vx sets a new standard for dialogue noise reduction and ambiance removal. The plugin’s AI engine has been trained on millions of voice samples to deliver exceptional audio quality in real time. This effectively eliminates the need for extensive manual editing or time-consuming automated dialogue replacement (ADR).

Clarity Vx provides six frequency band controls with advanced settings like process amount, solo listener, and gain adjustment. Users can tweak the AI’s noise reduction to suit their exact needs, and then automate plugin settings directly in their DAW timeline alongside video and other audio tracks. The plug-in also includes options to remove or enhance environmental background noise as desired.

Since its release last spring, Clarity Vx has been met with critical acclaim and rapid adoption across film, broadcast, music, and streaming media. Dialogue editors have praised its reliability and intuitive workflow for delivering “night and day” improvements over previous noise reduction tools.

“I was shocked when I first tried Clarity—I’d never heard something so good. The noise reduction can go very far and still sound natural. It’s also real-time, so I don’t have to render each track: I can be more creative in my dialogue editing instead of wasting time cleaning noise,” said Ron Bartlett, Re-recording mixer of movies including Dune, King Richard, Blade Runner 2049, Life of Pi.
