Alesis Strata Prime Announced

Alesis Strata Prime is the latest electronic drum kit announced leveraging the BFD 3 sound engine. Designed for professional musicians, this drum kit is a testament to how far electronic drum kits have developed over the years. The kit is comprised of 10 mesh-head pads. In addition to the traditional snare and toms, this unit includes a 20’kick drum, 2x 16′ crashes, 18′ ride

14′ hi-hats. The snare and tom pads are dual-zone, for snare and toms for triggering rimshots. The cymbals leverage Alesis’s ARC technology allowing for 360 degrees of playability, and triple-zone capable of triggering samples on the bow, edge, and bell.

The central brain of the unit is its head unit, featuring a well-designed 10.1′ color touchscreen display and six rotary encoders for fine-tuning. The 40GB sound engine features 75 core presets that are multi-sampled with multi-microphone setups. The Prime drum module leverages a multicore processor for a remarkable zero latency response. It is important to note that the hi-hat stand and bass drum pedal are sold separately.

The Alesis Strata Prime comes with an expansive arsenal of input and output capabilities. In addition to the 14 trigger inputs, the head unit comes with 4 assignable output jacks, a stereo aux input, MIDI in/out, master L/R outputs with balanced XLR sockets, and wireless Bluetooth MIDI. The head unit has 128 GB of internal memory and additional USB ports for memory sticks and hardline computer connection.

With the purchase of the Alesis Strata Prime, a 90-day subscription to Drumeo, a 30-day subscription to Melodics, and a free copy of BFD player software for both Mac/PC are included. The drum kit will retail for $3,499.
