Legendary DJ Tiësto had his headlining performance at Ultra Music Festival in Miami temporarily stopped due to heavy rain interfering with his equipment on Friday night.
Tiësto was in the middle of his highly-anticipated main stage sunset set when a burst of thunderstorms rolled through the festival grounds. Footage shared on social media shows rain pouring down on the DJ booth, with Tiesto forced to halt the music as water started hitting his mixer and other gear.

Despite the abrupt pause, the dance music icon handled the situation like a pro and managed to resume playing once the worst of the storm had passed. Tiësto was able to finish out his set for the drenched but energetic crowd.
The rain delay sparked discussion among fans, with some criticizing the festival organizers for not having the main stage DJ booth properly covered or sheltered. As one commenter put it, “The minimum is to build a roof above the DJ booth…professional festivals should know how to be ready and get over everything.“
While rain is common during Miami Music Week, the festival’s vulnerability to severe weather has been an ongoing discussion point.
