Mau P flips fans’ internet anger into a certified banger

Home News Mau P flips fans’ internet anger into a certified banger

It seems like overnight Mau P went from just another promising Dutch producer to an international star playing festivals and clubs worldwide and sharing the spotlight at Coachella alongside Diplo. Being in the spotlight does mean that he is prone to the standard scrutiny and commentary of the internet, but he seems to have a solution for that energy.

Ever since Drugs From Amsterdam captured the attention of the entire electronic music community, Mau P has become a household name and a staple of some of the biggest events on the planet. Despite the pressure that surely comes with such a successful debut single, he has more than been up to the challenge of matching the energy and intrigue of that first work. Recent tracks such as On Again and Dress Code have confirmed that he was no one-hit-wonder. Despite this obvious success, the internet will always seem to find a reason to complain, and one TikTok user, Queen Sim was more than happy to share her concerns.

In Queens Sims’ post, she discusses how Mau P doesn’t appear to be having enough fun on stage and not dancing enough, a trait she prefers from the artists she sees. She goes on to compare the producer to John Summit, juxtaposing his often raucous live energy and specifically poses the question, ‘Mau P, why are you not dancing?’ Taking it one step further, she says, ‘Worst energy ever,’ a comment that seems to have inspired the Dutch producer more than anything. In a follow-up post, he takes the two comments and builds a track around them, flipping her words into a certified club-ready banger.
