With the countdown to Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) 2018 in full effect, Armin van Buuren has shared some brand new information on his Gaia side project. A few months ago he already announced a Gaia performance at Amsterdam’s legendary Paradiso during ADE, and just last night he dropped some more news about the project in his A State Of Trance radio show (episode #882).

Besides revealing that Gaia can now be followed on its freshly installed Instagram account, van Buuren also confirmed that a full Gaia album is finally going to happen, sooner than later. He shared that he will soon be dropping new music as teasers on that very same Instagram account and that fans can expect a little bit of techno, besides just trance, when it comes to the future Gaia sound. Here’s what Armin van Buuren had to say on ASOT #882 last night:

“I’m working on a lot of new music for Gaia at the moment, that album has to happen, one day sooner than later. Gaia is now on Instagram too, as I definitely want to move forward with this project, but…it’s going to be trance, and a little bit of techno as well. I will be sharing teasers on Instagram, so keep watching Gaia for some exclusive previews. There’s only one show at the moment, during ADE but that is completely sold out. Hopefully next year, we’ll be touring some Gaia dates, but there’s only going to be like 7 or 8 shows, if that…”

Van Buuren initially started to work on Gaia already back in the year 2000, releasing the track ‘4 Elements’, but it wasn’t until 2009 that former Rank 1 DJ/producer Benno de Goeij joined forces with him on the project. It really took off from then, with the duo scoring several massive hits like ‘Tuvan’, ‘Empire Of Hearts’, ‘J’ai Envie De Toi’, ‘Inyathi’, and, more recently, ‘Crossfire’.

Check out one of the many new Instagram posts down below and if you’re a fan of the project, be sure to start following Gaia for previews of new music, coming very soon.
