Summer festival season is approaching and we’re noting the effects. After a long wait, now we’re in the month of the year when Miami Music Week takes over the scene and artists showcase the results of their time spent in the studio during the long Winter. This year, to make it even more special, Tomorrowland has held his first ever winter edition, Tomorrowland Winter, where some of the finest DJs like Martin Garrix performed at amazing stage covered in white.

Martin Garrix dropped an astonishing set combining a wide variety of classics with recent releases. He took us on a journey playing a combination of mythical songs like ‘Tremor‘, ‘The Only Way Is Up‘, ‘Virus‘, ‘Goldskies‘, ‘Animals‘, ‘Crackin‘, ‘Forbidden Voices‘. He included commercial successes like ‘So Far Away‘ ‘Like I Do‘ and ‘Scared To Be Lonely‘, and progressive house anthems like the  Matisse & Sadko collabs ‘Saga‘ and ‘Together‘. Some of his latest productions were featured in his BYLAW EP which dropped during ADE, but he also included the Nicky Romero remix for his emotional collaboration with Mike Yung ‘Dreamer‘, his collab with Julian Jordan Glitch released in December, and his most recent track and second tune with Bonn, ‘No Sleep‘.

Even though we could not hear any new IDs from the Dutch prodigy, we did hear his highly-anticipated opening track from last year’s ADE. The track, which is still unreleased, is called ‘Mistaken’ and features vocals from Alex Aris. Apart from this, he also played some songs from his label STMPD RCRDS, including two IDs: one from Dyro and the other one from upcoming producers Seth Hills and Crime Zcene. The set finished in a spectacular way, with all kind of fireworks colouring the cold and snowy Alp sky with the background sound of the emotional and euphoric tune ‘High On Life‘.

What a warm up this is been for one of the most exciting events in the electronic music scene. Watching Martin Garrix come up with a powerful set, dominating the stage the way only he can, is pure gold. Fans around the world are eagerly anticipating his performance next week at Ultra Miami and are hoping to hear a selection of the huge amount of new music he has. But now, let’s enjoy this majestic set below.
