Under the name of deadmau5, Canadian Joel Zimmerman has evolved into one of the biggest names on the electronic music scene. deadmau5 doesn’t like to be called a DJ. His sets are more like live concerts as he puts his tracks together ‘on the fly’, using cutting edge computer technology and a software that he himself helped to develop. He also puts a great emphasis on the visuals when he performs: he became world famous in his LED headwear that was created based on his logo ‘mau5head’. But his most outstanding accomplishment in designing is his stage concept ‘Cube’, that allows him to bring mind-blowing light shows and visual effects wherever he performs. His latest structure is ‘Cube 3.0’ debuted at Ultra Music Festival earlier this year.

Joel is not afraid to share his honest opinion without any filter, which caused him some trouble in the past. A good example is when he used Twitter to express his distaste for Electric Daisy Carnival back in 2016, which made his fans doubt that he would ever return to EDC Las Vegas after his last performance in 2010. But the uncertainty is over after his glorious come back to the Sin City last weekend. He played staples like ‘Raise Your Weapon’, ‘Ghosts n Stuff’, but also his yet unreleased ‘Saturn’ and ended his show with ‘Coasted’.

If you have missed out on his set, check it out below, or even better, attend his ‘cubev3 tour’ to be apart of the mau5-craze.
