Illenium shows his ‘Heavenly Side’ in new track with Matt Maeson: Listen
On the eve of the biggest show in his career, Illenium blessed the public with another track off his highly anticipated upcoming album ‘Fallen Embers’. The track is titled ‘Heavenly Side’ and is in collaboration with American songwriter Matt Maeson. The track release comes after Illenium challenged fans that if the new album could get to 10,000 pre-saves, then he would release one more song.
‘Heavenly Side’ is another piece of art on the long list of Illenium’s successful discography. While it still has the iconic Illenium sound, the song itself is constructed differently than most of his prior tracks. Coming in the form of a beautiful lyric video the track does not disappoint. The track begins subtly with captivating vocals from Maeson mixed with only a few instruments. Then heading into the first verse, the introduction of the emotional piano chords that we have all grown to know from Illenium, begin to take shape. At the pre-chorus, the guitar becomes the focal point paired with Maeson’s voice but Illenium does not build up into a drop afterward. He decides to go into the second verse, only introducing the drop at the end.
Illenium has stated ‘Heavenly Side’ to be one of his favorite tracks off the album and had no intention of releasing it early. This song will be featured alongside all of Illenium’s work this Saturday as he premieres his long-awaited “Trilogy” show in Las Vegas. An event that will feature three different sets for the three albums he has released. Stating this as a “final sendoff” for the projects, this is without a doubt Illenium’s biggest show and production in his artistic career.
The new song is another example of how Illenium is one of the best in the industry creating emotional tracks. Listen to ‘Heavenly Side’ below and pre-save ‘Fallen Embers’ here. Don’t forget to also check out our full recap of the show here.
