Apple has unveiled AI-driven updates to Logic Pro, its professional music production suite for iPad and Mac. Logic Pro’s new update brings AI features that assist artists creatively while letting them stay in full control.

What’s New?

Apple Logic Pro introduced all new Session Players, which expand on Logic Pro’s popular Drummer capabilities. Session Players now include a virtual Bass Player and Keyboard Player that respond directly to user input and feedback. Trained using advanced AI and sampling technologies in collaboration with top studio musicians, these plugins can jam along with chord progressions, follow defined chord tracks, and offer nearly endless variations to fuel inspiration.

Another addition is the Stem Splitter, which leverages AI and Apple’s powerful M-series chips to separate mixed audio recordings into individual stems for drums, bass, vocals, and other instruments. This remarkable feature allows artists to recover and revive magical performances captured in Voice Memos, old demo tapes, or live recordings that would otherwise be lost to time. With the stems isolated, musicians can apply effects, add new parts, or rebalance the mix, breathing new life into cherished moments of inspiration.

Next up is ChromaGlow, an AI-powered tone-shaping tool that models the sounds of revered studio hardware. Now users can dial in the perfect saturation style, from modern clean tones to nostalgic vintage warmth or more extreme processing, adding presence and punch to any track.

Logic Pro’s new AI-backed updates, combined with the unparalleled performance of iPad, Mac, and M-series Apple silicon, provide creative pros with the best music creation experience in the industry,” said Brent Chiu-Watson, Apple’s senior director of Apps Worldwide Product Marketing.

Since its introduction last year, Logic Pro for iPad has seen rapid adoption from creatives, transforming the tablet into a complete mobile studio experience. With project round-tripping between iPad and Mac, musicians can seamlessly transition between on-the-go creativity and in-studio refinement.

These groundbreaking AI features in Logic Pro for iPad 2 and Logic Pro for Mac 11 are set to be a trendsetter for other DAWs in the future. The updated suite will be available on the App Store starting Monday, May 13th.
