Following the successful launch of its inaugural retail store in London last year, Roland is expanding the interactive retail concept globally. The Tokyo outpost will offer customers personalized product demonstrations and expert guidance from Roland specialists across three floors of synthesizers, digital pianos, drum kits, and more.

Housed in the trendy Harajuku district, known for fashion and culture, the store leans into Roland’s Japanese heritage. Visitors can explore the full product range while enjoying a customized experience via proprietary “Audience Specific Experience” (ASX) technology. This allows for tailored audio, visuals, and lighting during hands-on sessions.

Beyond the appointment-based personal shopping service, Roland experts will also offer continued aftercare to help new users develop their skills after purchase. For Roland, the goal is promoting creativity and building community around their instruments.

As Gordon Raison, CEO of Roland, shared, “The purpose of opening Roland Store Tokyo is to give the visitors a genuine experience of connecting with our products and culture in an intimate environment.”

The Tokyo store follows the London flagship’s success in delivering exceptional service in a dedicated retail space. With Harajuku’s reputation as a music and culture hub, the new store is strategically positioned to introduce Roland’s joy of music creation to more audiences.
