Year on year, the Ultra brand continues to expand and deliver more to the electronic music world. Initially taking over Miami each year for their main event – Ultra Music Festival – the event heavyweights have moved to over 20 locations with their festivals and ‘Road To Ultra’ showcases. One of the biggest events after Miami’s instalment – in terms of both attendees and Ultra’s renowned production quality – is Ultra Europe, held annually in Split, Croatia. This years episode of the event has just occurred and went down as one of the best yet, with killer sets from Eric Prydz, Steve Angelloand Axwell Λ Ingrosso. Though there is a huge link between those three acts, there was no on stage collaboration of any form, particularly as Swedish House Mafia as so many had hoped for following the reunion at the Miami main event in March. However, the latter of the three acts – Axwell Λ Ingrosso – proved why their individual success away from the supergroup is deserved, providing a monumental set with an impeccable ending.

The Swedish duo of Axel Hedfors and Sebastian Ingrosso are real legends in the game, but took the attention off themselves to pay tribute to a fellow pioneer of the sound you hear today: Avicii. Following his untimely death just a few months ago, numerous DJs have paid tribute to the late 28-year-old through interviews, playing his tracks, or even a tattoo from Kygo to remember his biggest inspiration. Ax and Seb have decided recently to pay their own tribute during their live sets, by dropping an expert mashup of their most iconic track ‘Don’t You Worry Child‘ and one of Avicii’s biggest hits ‘Wake Me Up‘. The mashup has been dropped in a number of their sets recently, and provided an emotional ending to their spectacular Ultra Europe set.

Rather than trying to explain the shear brilliance and respect demonstrated in this tribute to Avicii, here’s a clip for you to see for yourself.
