Reddit thread reveals extensive list of 2019 anticipated album releases

With the new year in full swing and the awkward ‘Happy New Year’ conversations with random people firmly behind the present day, electronic dance music is now back in everyone’s eye sight. As the 2019 rumour mill begins turning, anticipation has already started to build upon numerous topics. Swedish House Mafia‘s reunion tour… Ibiza residency announcements… Ultra and Tomorrowland line up announcements… the list goes on. The real interesting topic, however, is that of a certain Reddit thread compiled a couple of days back, with a list of 2019’s most anticipated albums, including some pretty huge names.

The list does not cover all grounds, but has a wide spread of genre’s and possibilities. Interesting hypothetical inclusions to the list include the long awaited release of new Avicii music, but the ethical considerations of this are somewhat at the forefront for the right reasons, hence this may never happen. Swedish House Mafia obviously make the list, with Axwell saying that new music is in the works, but not necessarily an album. Virtual Self is also included, with a potential second EP to drop this year, alongside the likes of Pendulum and W&W/NWYR. A number of confirmed albums make the list, with the new Third Party album of particular interest to many. There is also the inclusion of an unconfirmed confirmed album: the deleted Instagram story including Zedd and DJ Snake on Polydor Records album release list makes the two dance heavyweights a must-have on this list, but the mystery of their upcoming albums continues.

There are plenty more exciting names on the list, including Eric Prydz, Skrillex, Deadmau5, Gesaffelstein, Joyryde, ATTLAS, Gryffin, and many more, with a few listed EP releases by Knife Party and Jason Ross amongst the strong contingent compiled here. Check out the full Reddit list for yourself below, and see if your favourite artist is set to release their album in 2019!
