New Free Plugin Brings Effortless 360 Spatial Audio Panning

The latest version of the free Transpanner plugin, Transpanner 2, builds on the original by introducing a polar pad interface and improved processing.

Offering an advanced panning solution is the newest release from Artists in DSP – a free plugin named Transpanner 2. Employing psychoacoustic techniques grounded in transmural and ambisonic processing, Transpanner 2 seeks to recreate the immersive quality of a surround speaker system through stereo monitors. With this plugin, users can pan any signal seamlessly across a full 360 degrees, similar to spatial audio. Upon launching, users are prompted to calibrate Transpanner 2 to their specific monitor setup, as shown in the accompanying video. This version features a redesigned XY interface centered around concentric circles called the Polar Pad.
