While the biggest synth brands are household names, the real question arises: which ones dominate internet searches, country by country? In a recent study conducted by Wood And Fire Studio, an attempt was made to shed light on this intriguing query.

#5 – Korg

In the fifth spot sits Korg, established in 1964, garnering a monthly total of 87,650 searches. However, Wood & Fire’s analysis indicates that it should tally up to 95,650. The discrepancy stems from Sweden, where ‘Korg’ translates to ‘basket’ in Swedish, significantly inflating search volumes. To present a more accurate representation, Wood & Fire deducted 7,000 searches per month from the total. The final results indicated that Korg is the #1 search in 3 countries.

#4 – Moog

In fourth position stands Moog, boasting 88,390 searches monthly. While this figure may pale in comparison to Roland and Behringer, Moog holds a significant sway over the US market, the most crucial market globally. Moreover, Moog’s synthesizers command notably higher prices compared to competitors, rendering them less accessible to a broader audience. Moog goes #1 in 3 countries as well.

#3 – Arturia

In the third position stands Arturia, recording 100,660 searches per month. Established in 1999, this French company enjoys widespread popularity, especially renowned for its software synthesizers, which come at a notably lower price point compared to their hardware counterparts. Notably, Arturia claims the top spot in 6 out of 118 countries, marking its significant global presence and appeal.

#2 – Behringer

In the second spot comes Behringer, boasting a monthly tally of 132,350 searches worldwide. In recent years, Behringer has surged in popularity within the synthesizer domain, thanks to its prolific release of new editions and clones of revered classic devices, all offered at remarkably affordable prices. Founded in 1981, this youthful company has captured significant attention compared to established brands like Roland and Moog. Remarkably, Behringer claims the top position in 33 out of 118 countries, underscoring its widespread appeal and dominance in the global market

#1 – Roland

Roland claims the top spot with a total of 173,260 searches monthly. This outcome isn’t unexpected, given that Roland, founded in 1972, stands as the second oldest company in the field after Moog (founded in 1951) and Korg (established in 1964). Notably, Roland’s product portfolio surpasses those of Moog and Korg, offering a significantly broader range, with synthesizer prices generally falling below those of Moog. Overall, Roland secures the #1 position in 73 out of 118 countries, attesting to its widespread recognition and popularity across diverse global markets.
